In November Year 2013, we had  international visits for our School Day Celebration. Read the bilingual  interviews:

 

Hola yo soy Laura Ramos de 7ºB y voy a hacer una presentación especial. Con el objetivo de compartir con nosotros esta fiesta de la tradición argentina, hoy contamos con la destacada visita  de cuatro personalidades extranjeras.  Los recibimos con un cálido aplauso. 

This is Mr Mathew Somma.  He is from Australia. This is Mr Agustin Fernandez. He is from England. This is Ms Lourdes Sposato. She is from Canada. This is Mr Leo Biondi. He is from Southafrica. Welcome to our school Martin Fierro. Thank you very much for your presence. Sit down please and enjoy the show.

Paulina Leon de 7ºB los entrevistara  y yo realizare la interpretación de la entrevista.

 Paulina: Paulina: Hello Mr Agustin Fernandez. Welcome to out school Martin Fierro. Where are you from?

Agus: I’m from Oxford, England.

Paulina: What is the purpose of your visit?

Agus: I’m in Argentina on holiday. I have many online friends from Buenos Aires and I’m visiting them.

Paulina: Do you like the people in Argentina?

Agus: Yes! They are very friendly.

Paulina: Do you like the payadas and contrapuntos in Spanish?

Agus: Yes. My Spanish is very little, but I liked the guitar very much.

Paulina: Would you like an empanada?

Agus: I’d love it. MM! a Very good bite.

Laura: Mr Agustin Fernandez viene de la ciudad de Oxford en Inglaterra. Vino a la argentina avisitar a su amigos on line. Piensa que los argentinos somos muy amigables. La payadas y el contrapunto le parecio muy interesante, especialmente la guitarra, ya que su español es limitado. Le gusta mucho la empanada que hicieron los chicos de 6º también.

Our school name is Martin Fierro: a poem written by Jose Hernandez, who was born on November the 10th in 1834. The poem tells us about the life of the gaucho, who lived in our country at the time. The children in seventh grade made a selection of stanzas to read out today. Enjoy.

Paulina: Hello Ms Lourdes Sposato. Welcome to out school Martin Fierro. Where are you from?

Lourdes: I’m from Quebec, Canada.

Paulina: What is the purpose of your visit?

Lourdes: I’m in Buenos Aires on a family visit. My boy friend is from Argentina an d we are visiting his family.

Paulina: Do you like Buenos Aires?

Lourdes: Yes! It’s a historical city. I love history.

Paulina: Do you like the gaucho Martin Fierro?

Lourdes:  Yes. It’s a lovely traditional poem.

Paulina: Would you like our traditional pastelito?

Lourdes: yes, please. Delicious too.

Laura:  Lourdes is from Quebec, Canada. Vino a  a Argentina a conocer a la familia de su novio. Le gusta buenos aires porque es una ciudad histórica, le gusto mucho el martin fierro y los pastelitos que hicieron los chicos de 4º.

Paulina: Hello Leo Biondi.  Welcome to our school Martin Fierro. Where are you from?

Leo: I’m from Cape Town, South Africa.

Paulina: What is the purpose of your visit?

Leo: I’m on business. I work at a multinational company in Argentina.

Paulina: Do you like Argentina?

Leo: Yes, it is very similar to South Africa. I feel home.

Paulina: Do you like our historical traditions?

Leo: Yes, I do. The boys here promised an asado for me. I’m very curious about the choripan and the chinchulin.

Paulina: Ok, it is ready then.Thank you for coming. Enjoy!

Laura: Ezequiel  viene de Sudafrica. Se encuntra en un  viaje de negocios porque trabaja en una empresa multinacional. En Argentina, se siente como en casa. Disfruto de las tradiciones que le mostramos hoy. Y como le prometiron un asado, tiene mucha curiosidad por probar el choripán y el chinchulín.

Matias: I’m from Sydney, Australia.

Paulina: What is the purpose of your visit?

Matias: I’m in BA on business. I work at the Australian embassy in Argentina.

Paulina: Do you like Buenos Aires?

Matias: Yes of course. Buenos Aires is a fantastic city.

Paulina: Do you like the dance carnavalito?

Matias: Yes, it’s a happy dance. Congratulations!

Paulina: Would you like some mate, our most traditional hot drink?

Matias: Yes, please. Mm! A Delicious drink!

Laura: Mr Mathew Somma viene de la ciudad de Sydney. Trabaja en la embajada de Australia en Argentina. Le gusta mucho buenos aires y felicito a los chicos que bailaron el carnavalito. Le parece que es una danza muy alegre.  El mate le pareció delicioso.
